False Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the swelling of your median nerve restricting in your carpal tunnel. You will in most cases not have a problem in your arms or shoulders.  There are many patients who claim to have been victim to CTS only to find that it was something else causing the wrist pains.  Like any other disease or disorder you think you may be experiencing, it's best to see a doctor or specialist to determine what exactly is causing the pain. Then you can take their advice and decide on your own what will be your next move to fixing and treating the problem.

False CTS is often linked to Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, called for short TOS.  TOS is when the nerves are being pinched and restricted in your chest, the neck, head, shoulders or under your collar bone.  Although this disorder is not as common as CTS, TOS has still become a well known "fools gold" to patients searching if they are truly suffering from CTS.  TOS is usually found in men and women equally, in the middle age groups.  The TOS disorder comes in many different types and forms and is still being debated among doctors its true symptoms and treatments due to its complex and often confusing anatomy and definitions.  Research is still being done on TOS.

What Are The Symptoms Of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome?

Some of the most common symptoms of TOS involve experience of pain, arm weakness, and numbness in the arm and fingers. In some situations, the senses to touch, or the ability to feel cold and heat may be lost

How Can I Protect Myself From Developing TOS?

The best suggested method of prevention of TOS focuses on the design or redesign of the environment and workplace by avoiding the carrying of heavy weights, reaching overhead, and lifting with the arms above shoulder level.

Are There Any Treatments and Cures?

The base treatment of patients with TOS involves a specific designed excercise therapy program. Primarily all work activities suspected to link to the cause of the condition will be halted. Physicians may prescribe anti-inflammatory drugs to help reduce the inflammation and treat the symptoms. Doctors will sometimes suggest surgery if the patients symptoms continue to persist.  Like many other disorders, some things may work only for certain people, chances are your answer is out there among the many offered treatments and solutions.  It's best, like anything else to do your own due diligence.
